But these files are platform dependent (especially the autoconf files).
If we were to keep them for those who can't generate them, then we would
need to keep a copy for each platform. This seems to be a lot of trouble
to me. I really don't think we are being thoughtless by asking people to
have proper versions of software that is required to compile grass.
After all, we do that for tcltkgrass.

Just a thought.
