Initial Comment:
the v.report output seems wrongly tabulated. For example:
v.report roads op=length un=k
gives
cat|label|length

Furhermore
v.report streams op=length un=k
gives

|3|3.45883045471837
|421|0

What are -1 and 421?
Same results for 6.2 and 6.3.
