I agree. I imagine many will try and load old gis.m workspace files
with wxGUI and expect them to work.

How about ".gwsf" or ".gwxf" ? No need to hang on to old DOS 8.3 limits
anymore, .html broke us free from that.

or ".gses" for the grass session file  ;)

or just damn the torpedoes and use a conflicting .ext.
