[GRASS-dev] Maintenance QGIS GRASS plugin / provider

Dear GRASS devs

I'm writing to you as the technical advisor of the QGIS project steering 
committee. As such, I'm trying to make sure all the parts of the program have 
a dedicated maintainer. Unfortunately, the GRASS plugin in QGIS has no 
maintainer for quite some time now.

The GRASS plugin was written by Radim in 2004. He did a great job, maintained 
and improved the plugin successively until he left the team in 2006. Since 
then, the plugin has no maintainer. Even if there was some work on it after 
that, the GRASS plugin/provider is now the category with the most open bugs in 
the bugtracker(35).

I think this is a pitty, because the plugin has a large user base. Especially 
(but not only) users new to GIS, are not familiar with the GRASS command line. 
So they are happy to have the QGIS GUI and the analytical power of GRASS in a 
graphical way.
If there is someone from the GRASS community who is interested in helping to 
maintain the plugin, it would be greatly appreciated. In case of technical 
questions and problems, we are available to help.
