[STATSGRASS] gstat: witdh tolerance for non-regular space points?

I was doing some tests on interpolating DEM data, and since gstat is
giving errors in lat-long regions, I decided to convert the DEM to
vector points, project the points to UTM and then kriging the
projected points. The thing is that now my points are no longer
regularly spaced, (as in square cells) but like rectangular cells.
I was thinking, can I use some kind of tolerance for the width
distance in variogram() function? with this I would be able to use all
the points in my dataset, because if I use a fixed width, some of the
points won't be used.
