I notice there is a Gcontour.new directory in src/raster/r.surf.contour which has newer (06/07/91) code thatn the standard r.surf.contour code. Does anyone know why this new code er code is in a separate directory? Is it reliable? I s there more recent r.surf.contour code.? This is a nice program but it runs very slowly (>1 day) on a 500X500 raster.
