Having problems with m.in.e00

Howdy,

I am having problems getting m.in.e00 to work in any version of
Grass that I have installed. So far, this includes 4.2.1, 4.3, 5.0beta5,
and 5.0beta6. I have pulled down a wide selection of e00 files from
many different places, including a bunch from the USDA/NRCS
server, and the ESRI server.

I keep getting the error message unexpected end of file, and when
I look at the logfile that the routine generated (level 9), it looks like the
routine is choking on an unexpected variable type.

I am running on RedHat 6.1, with 2.95 distribution of the egcs compilers.
I have tried 2.91 as well to make sure that it was not a compiler or possibly
a glibc problem. Everything compiles without a glitch.

I am also not able to import sdts, and dem coverages, which is why I
thought that it may be a compiler or library problem. I have not tried to
install the binary distribution, but will be doing so shortly.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Also, it anybody
has a small e00 file that does import correctly, I would greatly appreciate
it if they could email it to me. I just want to make sure that it is me and not
a file format inconsistancy that I am dealing with here.

Thanks so much for you help,
dan
