You need a Motif(R) installation, such as the free Lesstif.  FYI, the
r3.showdspf is pretty crude...

The libraries you need are:

Mesa/OpenGL libraries (libGL, libGLU)
Mesa/OpenGL widgets  (libGLw, libGLwM <- "M" is for "Motif")
Xlib, Xt, Xext libraries..
