That's unfortunate, although quite possible.

Note that DEBUG and WX_DEBUG are two separated variables.

Try to run it with DEBUG=5 instead of WX_DEBUG=5, so we have at least some
debug output. This still might crash when you say that it crashes without
any debug.

Have you tried closing and not closing the vector digitizer (this closes
the vector map) before saving the PNG image?

This seems like a separate error related to translations. Can you please
create a ticket for it? No debug output might be need in this case (the
error should be reported right away.
