 This may be redundant the [http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/
 xfce4-xkb-plugin Xkb] panel applet is already installed by default. I've
 been looking at ways to automate or pre-seed layouts for the installed
 languages.

 Also note "[http://gauvain.pocentek.net/code/xfkc/ XfKC] is deprecated. A
 big part of its code is now included in Xfce 4.6 (xfwm4), which makes it
 useless. It is recommended to upgrade to Xfce 4.6 if you need XfKC
 features." Xubuntu 9.10 contains xfce 4.6.1
