In my opinion the legend height is fine. It is more of a interface design decision. Different sites/data will look best with different values. Why not simply go in the code to change as needed/desired?

Path corrections and small template extensions in
mapviewerphp/layerdefinitionfactory.php:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/1281

BuildClientSideTree:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/427 (reopened)

Enlarge the box in which symbols data and url are retrieved in
ajaxmappane.templ:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/1282

Enlarge legend height default value from 250px to a higher value:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/1283

The choice of system of measurement should be read from configuration file:
http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/1284

Regards,

Gabriele
