I believe you can use http://mapguide.osgeo.org/files/mapguide/docs/2.0/viewerapi.html as the original source of the Viewer API.  Feel free to check that into svn if required.

I was also trying to get the source for the dev guide so that MGOS could work directly on that but never heard back (I'm still not happy about this, and sorry).
