This may or may not be the issue with the missing layer but the MG 
definition of "PseudoMercator" is not the same as the "big 3/Google 
mercator/spherical mercator" because the one listed below is not a 
sphere - for it to be spherical, the 3rd param in the SPHEROID text must 
be a 0 (zero).  See  http://spatialreference.org/ref/epsg/3785/

If you have a Google base layer and try to overlay "PseudoMercator" on 
top it's not going to line up properly.
