Now this is welcome news.  Our shop has to date steered clear of ECW owing to 
its apparent marriage to Microsoft operating systems.  Given that we are 
primarily a Unix shop, and in particular that our web server is Unix-based, 
there didn't seem to be any reasonable means of fitting ECW into the mix.  Can I 
assume that GDAL support for ECW means that we will (finally) be able to serve 
ECW images from Unix servers?
