a crazy, and very good idea. Dunno how do-able it is, but you sound like 
you know your way around Cocoa so I am assuming you know what you are 
talking about ;-).

You might also want to consider Camelbones which essentially gives Cocoa 
capabilities to Perl. That way you would be able to exploit Perl 
Mapscript with Cocoa.
