[mapserver-users] Newbie question about sizing and panning

Not sure of the best way, but if you have your data in a shape file 
then you can get the extents of the shape file and zoom mapserver to 
those extents. You would have to do most of these steps in Mapscript.

Or you could make a list of the names and extents for each state and 
build them into a pop-up list and use javascript to issue direct the 
browser to a new url that would be the extents from the list.

Probably other ways also :)
