[Mapserver-users] Mapserver 4.0 symbols in BMP format ?

You should be able to use whatever formats GD itself supports. So, if GD supports BMP then
you should be ok. MapServer relies on GD to choke on a file, it does not test formats itself. In
the past BMP just hasn't worked all that well for me but I haven't tried in years.
