getting geo coordinates from image / entering point data

Hi, I want to get geographic (not pixel - found that in archives)
coordinates from an image. Such that one could select a tool, and click
on the map, and you'd end up with the North/Easting, Lat/Lon, etc so I
can pass that to a POST.

(Want people to be able to select a point on the map and then send us a
comment, submit via POST/similar.)
