installing qgis on fedora core 5

Try adding the path to the so's into /etc/ld.so.conf and then running
/sbin/ldconfig.  I am not familiar with fgs, but it looks like it is
installing the so's into a place that your base system does not know about.

I want to install qgis on my fedora core 5 machine... 
I get this error .... 
I have fgs already so there is libgdal.so.1 in its lib but the rpm 
cant find it ... 
[root at localhost lib]# rpm -i ~/Desktop/qgis_FC4_0.7.4_nopg_nograss.i386.rpm 
error: Failed dependencies: 
        libgdal.so.1 is needed by qgis-0.7.4-0.i386 
        libgeos.so.2 is needed by qgis-0.7.4-0.i386 
        libgsl.so.0 is needed by qgis-0.7.4-0.i386

        libproj.so.0 is needed by qgis-0.7.4-0.i386 
any help is appreciated.. 
PS:- I know that this is not qgis forum ..but still trying my luck
