[mapserver-users] Simple Query Advice

Greetings,

I am fairly new to Mapserver and have enjoyed using it thus far using only
SHPs. I've found some decent platforms in which to zoom and pan a SHP but
have found queries to be a little complex. 

At the end of the day I would like my first app to have the function of
clicking on a point in a SHP layer and have information for that point
appear in a frame. I would like to see what the easiest way to fulfil this
is and perhaps have suggestions on how to store this text data.

My other issue is that I have no access to the host server where this page
will wind up and will not have the opportunity to install additional
packages beyond Cameleon and PHP. 

I think ultimately I will be using the QUERY but was looking for additional
suggestions.
