[mapserver-users] mapcache's Mapserver mapfile feature

I came across a previous post that has piqued my interest:

The code to have Mapcache use a Mapserver's map file is still in the code base.

Why isn't this feature documented?  Was it experimental at one time, and didn't quite make it to prime time?  It looks like it could be very useful to minimize the configuration needed to get Mapcache up and running.
