I believe it was graphserver, or some spelling similar to that.  Looked interesting to me...

Nope. But you may be thinking of pgdjikstra. It implements the Djikstra 
algorithm in PostGIS, allowing routing calculations on a TIGER dataset. 
I've never played with it myself...
