[OpenLayers-Users] Change the color palette of a raster image

Hello to all of you,
do you know if that's possible with OpenLayers? 
Or may I specify a transparent color?
I believe it's not possible, but you may have some hint.

(Is there maybe an external Javascript library which can do that?)
