[OpenLayers-Users] double buffered refresh of WMS layers

Hi,

I am developing an application which includes two WMS layers, one baselayer and another translucent heatmap layer on top of the base layer. In the usual setup, layers seem to get drawn one by one. My problem is that the heatmap layer modifies the color of the base layer quite much. When the update speed gets high (about 0.1 seconds/layer), the result is annoying flickering while modifying heatmap parameters interactively.

Is there a way to draw both layers at the same time (i.e draw both layers in a hidden back buffer and show the result when it is ready)?

All help is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Vesa Meskanen
