Howard,

You can’t remove them but you can add your own archives as well.
They will be listed on top and will typically have a more sensible name
than the auto-generated ones. That’s what I’ve been doing with PROJ:

https://github.com/OSGeo/proj.4/releases

I think it confuses users less. Although it would be nice to turn of the
auto-generated archives.

The one on github is the "autorelease" feature of github connected to
their tagging. I do not see a way to remove it.

The canonnical release is the one on download.osgeo.org<http://download.osgeo.org> that is
available from https://www.pdal.io/download.html and includes links to
md5 hashes for verification.

One has complete set of PDALConfig*, the other just the template.

The diff below is a doc bug in the release. We will be having a 1.7.2
release in May to fix this doc issue along with some others. Thanks for
the report.

I'll report if I spot any other issue.
