 Ok, the problem was that qsort gives unpredictable result when comparing
 identical values. Now, force the ordering to be consistent. I cannot see
 any performance penalty, so it is probably quite small even if compare-
 function is called many times.

 fixed in r13423

 Now let's see if both winnie and debbie is happy.
