[postgis-users] PostGIS topology

In that case, Daniel was on the right track suggesting pgRouting
(http://pgrouting.postlbs.org/).  It extends PostGIS for just this sort
of purpose and will likely be easier than using GEOS directly. 
Unfortunately, I'm no expert on pgRouting, but their website should be
worth a look.
