If people think the schedule for a stable 1.0 is too tight:
-1
and offer a beta/release candidate like Paolo says. The 'real' Qgis 1.0 
should be as stable as possible, but it should be fun to show of the new 
features in a 1.0rc1 at FOSS4G2008 already :-)
