Hi Eduardo,
I'm working on the Italian translations (GUI, documentation and website).

You can use Transifex to translate the documentation and the website,
but you can also download the .po files from transifex and use an
offline editor to translate.

I think that almost all the translator use QT Linguist to translate,
but it is up to you.
If you choose this method, once you finished to translate, you have to
upload the files on transifex.

If you use transifex the entire work flow is automatic updated.


GUI translation is a little bit more difficult: you have to download
the file from github, use QT-Linguist (or another editor) and then
"push" the translated file (.ts) on github performing a *pull request*.


My suggestions are:
- - use Transifex to translate when possible, so documentation and
website (people worked very hard to allow the use of this tool)
- - explore all the Transifex possibilities (glossary, translation
memory...). On the Transifex website you can find a lot of help
- - use QT-Linguist if you don't want to use Transifex; if you get
trouble, qgis translator can help you faster
