Hi Meena,

what you find on github's release page is the list of versions and 
source code only.

So you will find all versions using semantic versionning as XX.XX.XX 
version  ie 3.36.1 .

This source code is then compiled for the different platforms and 
installer versions. Windows msi, windows osgeo4W, debian packages for 
Ubuntu/Debian. Other packages are maintained by the community.

On a package version, the last number 3.36.1*-2 *refers the package 
build version. In this case, the package was built twice for 3.36.1. In 
a new package, you usually find upgraded versions of dependencies that 
are not QGIS core.
