[QGIS-Developer] relation reference widget "on map identification" missing?

Hi all,
I can't have the on map identification widget appear in QGIS 3, when in
qgis 2.18 it works.
I'm on ubuntu 16.04 using ubuntu-nightly, with package libqgis-customwidets
installed.
Am I missing something?
