My redacted version below:

--------------

Dear QGIS Solution Provider,

The QGIS project is maturing rapidly yet there is still a lot to do.
We, the qgis-project steering committee, are contacting you because
you are listed here:

http://qgis.org/en/commercial-support.html

and we believe you are among those most interested in having a bright
future for QGIS. As you may have noticed, we have started a
sponsorship and donation program:

http://qgis.org/en/sponsorship.html

which we believe is a great opportunity to help and speed up QGIS
development, and we encourage you to seriously consider becoming an
official sponsor. Becoming an official sponsor has multiple benefits.
Firstly it will help to ensure the growth and stability of the QGIS
project which will in turn provide similar benefits to your business.
Secondly, your company name will be listed in the QGIS -> About ->
Sponsors dialog of the QGIS application, increasing your visibility
amongst our users. Thirdly, you can use the official QGIS sponsor logo
on your web site and stationary (for the duration of the sponsorship
period), letting the general public know that you take an active role
in the development and improvement of QGIS.

We know that several of you are already heavily involved in
contributing to the project in other ways, so you should not feel
obliged to contribute. Your ideas on how to further improve the
support to QGIS will also be greatly appreciated.

Best regards

--------------

I think before you send this out we should draw up the sponsors logos
(platinum, gold etc) so that we can show them what they will get. I'll
see if I get some time to do some gimping this weekend to make a
couple of visual proposals on this.

Regards
