[Qgis-user] Label from different table

Is it possible, to enter value of attributes as 1,2,3 and so on, then
in separate table I can maintain meaning of 1,2, 3 like (in case of
road condition):

1 Excellent
2 Good
3 Average
4 Poor
5 Unacceptable

then render on map with values of 1,2,3, (i.e Good / Average) rather
than number itself.

If yes, any pointer to related information is requested.
