[Qgis-user] Saving projects with relative paths fix

Thanks for the responses to this question.

I am hoping to receive a little more clarification on the fix for the relative paths issue.  Will this appear in the 1.4 release called Enceladus scheduled for 12/31/09?
I hope to use QGIS to broadly distribute a project to people using either Mac's or PC's and need to know if this functionality will be fixed soon enough and available in a binary package.
I could certainly manually edit the project files to change file paths to valid absolute paths on the Mac side.  This assumes though that I know where end users will install the project.
