[Qgis-user] Re: QGIS 1.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 crashes

I can confirm that the crash problem was caused by the "Add Vector Layer..."
tool being with an empty field for Encoding by default. This is an
abnormal state,
very unusual, which in my case was caused by plugin "points2One":
after running the
plugin and selecting YES to Add layer to the TOC, QGIS crashes and remains with
the empty Encoding field by default in "Add Vector Layer...". If the
user does not realize the
empty field and proceeds not selecting an Encoding, QGIS crashes. QGIS
also crashes at
opening any project in which there is a vector layer to be added.
The problem is simply solved by using "Add Vector Layer..." once and
selecting an Encoding.
>From there on, "Add Vector Layer..." always has some Encoding by
default and QGIS does not crash.

According to the track, the crash problem has also been solved in
trunk and thus for future releases
of stable binaries (thanks Jef!).

It would be nice if the very useful plugin points2One could be fixed as well

Thanks to all.
