[Qgis-user] RE: problems with qgis1.6 plugins (fixed)

Posted the question too soon as it was possible to sort this out simply by deleting each of the plugins within qgis then restarting and the newer version was picked up and no more error message. Not sure why this did not work first time I tried it.

Unfortunately the problem with ftools 'nearest neighbour' is still there though, now it does not crash qgis but instead just hangs. It could be that there are too many points for it to handle (a few thousand) but it gets through them reasonably quickly then just hangs with the little timer not allowing anything else to be done in the program but allowing other processes such as email.

Subject: [Qgis-user] problems with qgis1.6 plugins

When starting up 1.6 under windowsXP there is a message saying that the plugin installer has detected obsolete versions of ftools and gdal plugins which are masking the version shipped with qgis 1.6. I've tried to fix this using the plugin installer to remove older versions of these plugins but without success, still keep getting these messages on startup.

Also when using ftools the particular tool (nearest neighbour) says its worked but then crashes qgis.
