[Qgis-user] joining csv file and attribute table

Hello list

Thanks to everyone who has helped with this problem so far - unfortunately its not over yet!  Here is a summary:

1) created Mac spreadsheet, exported as csv file, joined to attribute table: success
2) open 'layer properties' and 'style' tab - whilst all the fields are listed under 'categorised', only those from the original attribute table appear when using 'graduated'.
3) made a little .csvt file to define the fields as string, integer, real etc.    This has been checked and corrected but still doesn't work.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?   Anyone with experience of transferring data from Mac spreadsheets?
