[Qgis-user] Further on composer problems [1/2]

Following Tim Sutton's email, I am adding a little more descriptin of what
has been happening. Separately i will share the actual shape files.
Attaching both into one message went over the size limit.

I was not sure if attachments would be ok or not. Upon Tim Sutton's
suggestion, I am attaching the actual data files and clarifying my
situation further, below.

In the mac, in the composer where I start setting grid parameters,

   1. i select to display grid,
   2. then the grid type (i select crosses) -- actually i am trying to get
   only tics on the edges with nothing on the map (crosses or full lines), but
   of the options available, crosses are my choice
   3. then i come to "Interval X" and enter a value, say 2 or 3
   4. next, I come to "Interval Y" and enter the same value
   5. and then the system hangs; often i can't even enter the Y value
   because the system hangs as soon as i put the cursor in the field.
   6. i tried doing things in different order after selecting 'grid' --
   thinking it may be some kind of quirk in my installation that i can work
   around. invariably, the 2nd or 3rd step after selecting 'grid' causes the
   machine to hang.

In the PC, i had already tried right-clicking on the blank space to get
back the item properties box, but it hadn't worked. Hence my question in
the posting.
