[Qgis-user] QGIS Contour Generation

I have reached as far as the Contour tab but unable to specify an acceptable output file path in the Output file for contour lines(vector). I tried to input C:/User/Fritz/Documents/Temp.shp but got an error message that says it is not a directory. I tried other paths but they were all unacceptable. Please advise. Thanks!
