[Qgis-user] tooltips not showing

Hi Raymond,

which tooltips are you referring to? The tooltips for the buttons etc 
(if so I would blame Ubuntu, google "qt tooltips ubuntu 11.04" )?

I'm running 'Master' (formerly, in ancient svn times, called 'Trunk' ;-) 
here on Ubuntu 11.10 without problems.
By the way, this is what I see if I compile/run Master:

QGIS version 1.9.0-Master
QGIS code revision f987e64
Compiled against Qt 4.7.4
Running against Qt 4.7.4
Compiled against GDAL/OGR 1.9.1
Running against GDAL/OGR 1.9.1
GEOS Version 3.3.3
PostgreSQL Client Version 9.1.4
SpatiaLite Version 3.1.0-RC2
QWT Version 5.2.2

Are you compiling the 1.8-branch maybe?
