[Qgis-user] lost 'fetch python plugins' and vector menu

Hi,

I am no expert, but I was confronted to the same problem on Ubuntu 13.04
with QGIS 1.8 and I finally solved it, with Borys Jurgiel's help, by :
1/ uninstalling qgis
2/ compiling it from source
3/ using this tip after compiling :
http://hub.qgis.org/wiki/quantum-gis/Building_QGIS_from_Source

Have you tried just 3/ ?

Good luck,

Julie.
