do you have the system's Gatekeeper on? (System Prefs-Security-General-Allow applications, either of first 2 options)  Try it after setting that to Anywhere.

Something changed in your system or user environment recently (if it was working previously)?  Or maybe a new QGIS plugin you installed?  Try removing recently-installed plugins.

Try creating a new user and run QGIS in that new login.
