[Qgis-user] Aerial photo service etc.. for QGIS Web Client

Hi Carlos,

QWC can now use tiled background services. Specifically, Bing, OSM and
Google are supported. We will also add arbitrary WMTS support later on.

However, there are some limits:

1. the background layers don't print as QGIS server has no knowledge
about it
2. you limit yourself to the EPSG 3857 projection that these services use.

I believe issue 1 could be fixed by improving QGIS server.

Finally: we are not responsible about you honoring the licensing terms
that these commercial services ask you to sign. It is a bit problematic
to build on these commercial services - some of them do not allow the
usage of digitizing/data collection on top of them. OSM may be different
here.

Display of the Content. You must not copy, translate, modify, or create
a derivative work (including creating or contributing to a database) of,
or publicly display any Content or any part thereof except as explicitly
permitted under these Terms. For example, the following are prohibited:
(i) creating server-side modification of map tiles; (ii) stitching
multiple static map images together to display a map that is larger than
permitted in the Maps APIs Documentation; (iii) creating mailing lists
or telemarketing lists based on the Content; or (iv) exporting, writing,
or saving the Content to a third party's location-based platform or service.

Basically this means you are not allowed to digitize on top of Google
imagery (creation of derivative work).

In case of OSM you must also honor the license terms.
