[Qgis-user] QGIS very slow

Hi,

Curious as to if anyone else has an issues with QGIS being incredible slow.
I am working with DEM's (two that are 50mb a piece) and the program is
sluggish, each move of the map very very slow. 

I don't know if I installed it wrong or there is simply a setting that can
change this. I have run ArcGIS 10 on a 2006 Macbook faster than this. 

I am currently using a MacBook Pro 2013 i7, with 16gb of ram! Ever other
program is working lighting fast. I like QGIS but if it takes 3+ min each
time I zoom in, then ArcGIS I go. J


Any advice would be appreciated.
