[Qgis-user] raster files

I have recently download QGIS DuFour on my Macbook pro. I use Raster files in MrSid format and the file can be read but the .sdw file is not read so I am not able to draw in the coordinates in composer. The raster file is georeferenced WGS84 but when I load it I get the following message: The layer appears to have no projection specification. I then set the CRS to WGS84 EPSG:4326 and activate and enable “on the fly". This is a raster toposheet for South Africa. Raster file has the following georeference: Projection Latitude/Longitude Datum:WGS 84. I am able to draw in the coordinates when I use ArcView. I suspect that the .sdw file that is in the folder with the .sid file is not being read when I add the raster layer. Does anyone have a solution to this problem. When I try other CRS settings the coordinates are incorrect. The odd thing is that when I use the Google Earth plugin the raster is snapped to the correct position and the raster image matches up with the google image and gives a 3D image.
