[Qgis-user] Displaying a point feature without outline?

Hi

I somehow can't get to display point features as simple markers without an
outline... Even if I choose *Outline width = 0.0 *the outline remains...

I have seen the workarounds here:

don't find them particularly elegant... (and even less since it's no longer
possible to use the old symbology).

Is this a bug that is planned to be corrected? Or a normal behavior?
