[Qgis-user] Map Symbols?

Mike - I'm assuming you are in the print composer portion of all of this:

if so:

 1. Add your map to the print composer(white icon with a green + sign)
 2. Add an image (should be the next icon just to the right - pic with a
    green plus sign))
 3. Click on item properties (just to the right).
 4. Under search directories you should see a list of SVG images.
 5. In there you will see some north arrows. It's a goal to make more
    for QGIS - these lack soul.
 6. Scroll down just a bit and you can check the box sync with map -
    that will keep your image/north arrow aligned with the map if you
    change it.
