[Qgis-user] How to buffer a line with different distances for left/right sides

Hallo,

 

we are using QGIS 1.8  

We like to buffer polylines with different distances for left and right
side. The lines are rivers with a direction and the buffer distances are
stored in the attributes, different numbers for the right and the left side
of the river. Is this possible in QGIS (as in arcinfo with regionbuffer)
