[Qgis-user] feature cannot be added

Hi
I am working through the training manual (R 2.0) and at 6.2.1 (pp 111-112) . This area appears to be already added to my landuse layer, and when a attempt to digitise it, i get an error message: “The feature cannot be added because it’s geometry collapsed due to intersection avoidance”.

What does this mean?
