[Qgis-user] QGIS processes fail silently

Hello

I've a freshly rebuilt OSX Yosemite with 2.8.2 installed.
Seemingly everything is fine, but when I try to run processes, such as
dissolve, simplify etc, I get blank files written, with no content.
I had the same version before my computer got re-imaged, so this puzzles me.

In my histroy log I only have an ALGORITHM folder and no files.

Any suggestions on how to start debugging and if there's a way to look at
processes as they are running in some console output?

Thanks
Peter
